Sorry for the #cat spam. Couldn’t resist it. Well the next...

Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang on Flickr.

A beautiful village to be visited away from city life..u can go jungle tracking and do flying fox there.

While kind of on the subject of taking photos out of hotel room windows, this is the sort of weird things that happen when you stick a polariser on your camera and try shooting through the thick, treated glass they use in hot countries. A friend of mine did some reading up on it and the polarised light that is reflected off the water or other windows can potentially show up stresses in the glass of the window you’re shooting through, or something like that hehe.

If you’re remotely interested these were shot from the Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur.

Eating. I love food, but I hate eating. I find eating a chore and something I don’t enjoy all too much.

I’m not anorexic, far from it, but I hate having to eat greasy, buttery, oil-filled foods even single day here in Malaysia.

On a side note, my shirt today has a giraffe wearing hipster spectacles. Your argument is invalid.

Obedient Wives Club Might Be a Bad Idea

In Malaysia, an organization known as the Obedient Wives Club has been formed by marginal Muslim group in an effort to curb domestic violence in the home and prostitution.  According to the group’s mission statement, these problems can be addressed through an educational program that teaches women to keep their husbands satisfied sexually, which will in turn prevent them from soliciting the services of a prostitute or punching their wives in the face.  A representative of the group stated that women should be “better than a first class prostitute, which makes sense because the best way to root out a problem is to upstage it.”  Upon hearing this statement that a wife should perform in the bedroom better than a prostitute, the MANdate – the society that represents all men in the world – nearly dissolved at one of their recent meetings on the Isle of Man due to exasperation from too much laughter.

In an interview during the post-laughter recovery period at MANdate, MANdate Chairman Chuck Mann said, “In all my thirty years of marriage, I have maintained intimacy with my wife, whom I love dearly.  But never during the time we’ve been together have I ever expected anything whore-ish from wife…even when I wanted her to.”

Malaysia’s minister for women’s affairs, Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, says that the club’s effort to make women more obedient to their husbands casts a poor light on the Muslim country and does not represent Islam well.  When asked if this Obedient Wives Club was the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of misrepresenting Islam in comparison to other aspects that have negatively represented Islam; such as radical Islamic fundamentalism; the countless terrorist attacks in New York, Madrid, Israel, Pakistan, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, and Yemen (just to name a few); and the fact that Islam’s influence in government has caused politics as well as Muslim ideology to be corrupted; Jalil said, “Well…perhaps we should not get caught up in semantics.”

Splitting hairs the size of tree trunks aside, the group has received substantial backlash from other countries, who question if Malaysian men are turning their wives into slaves.  In response, the group has released a statement: “We understand that our mission statement is written using misleading rhetoric that might confuse those who do not fully understand our ideology.  We expected that there would be questions as to our motivations and our agenda.  And so what if we are?”
