Tiffany's

"He's all right! Aren't you, cat? Poor cat! Poor slob! Poor slob without a name! The way I see it I haven't got the right to give him one. We don't belong to each other. We just took up one day by the river. I don't want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I'm not sure where that is but I know what it is like. It's like Tiffany's..."

Truman Capote.

"What should I do about the wild and the tame? The wild heart that wants to be free, and the tame heart that wants to come home. I want to be held. I don’t want you to come too close. I want you to scoop me up and bring me home at nights. I don’t want to tell you where I am. I want to keep a place among the rocks where no one can find me. I want to be with you."  Jeanette Winterson

Currently Reading These

After a significant number of years spent studying full-time, it's been a weird period of adjustment to be able to read whatever I want, whenever I want, without the pressure of trying to get through heaps of research constantly. Which I actually miss, but that's another story. So besides a constant stream of glossies I'm also ravenously devouring Steve Martin's new novel: An Object of Beauty. It's really good so far,but I loved his novel Shopgirl, so I'm trying to be unbiased and just enjoy this new one - which is not proving difficult at all.
After waiting for nearly 9 weeks for it to arrive I just collected Pretty Things from the post office today. I google stalk the author, Liz Goldwyn, pretty much every second day, so I almost fainted when I actually got my little paws on this finally!
