I just met a lovely girl who also had the same operation. She had a massive growth right under the skin which covered the majority of her right leg, effectively looking like a clump of very dark, messy bruising. She had never met anyone with the same thing before so was chuffed to have someone to talk to and ask questions.
It certainly made me appreciate my relative good health - the poor girl had had 7 operations on her leg alone, and chunks of muscle removed and tissue replaced. I’m glad she came by because it made me realize how lucky I am. Although I might be a deviation from the norm, I am in a far, far better state than the majority of people with my condition.
