So today was day one of my new workout plan (see my goals for June post) and I think I did pretty good!
Intake:
Breakfast: homemade smoothie (frozen strawberries and peaches, fresh strawberries, a banana and milk; delish!)
Work Snack: an orange, a banana and 1 can of low sodium v8
Pre-workout snack: a bowl of plain 2% yogurt
Lunch: a huge plate of shrimp salad: shrimp tossed in homemade asian vinaigrette (ginger, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, coriander, chillies, garlic) on top of arugula, spinach, romaine lettuce, red & yellow peppers, cucumber, mushrooms, roma & cherry tomatoes. the salad leaves also came very with small portions of asiago cheese, flax seed crackers, almonds, those crunchy yellow asian noodle-looking thingies, pineapple and tangerines so we threw them in there as well. mmmm soo yummy!
Before school snack: kiwi and a small bowl of special k with red berries and milk
While driving snack (my sister fed me lol): about 6 bites of Sri lankan style lemon rice and spicy potatoes mmm
In-class snack: some blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and cherries
Dinner: dahl (lentil curry) with spareribs on top of rice. Mmmm my mom is an amazing cook.
I also had 2 cups of green tea and some water.
Workout: I did C25K (W1D3) and 30 mins of power yoga which I absolutely love. The only workout which makes me feel energized, relaxed and rejuvenated while I sweat buckets.
So overall I think I did pretty good today, although I definitely need to up my water intake. Other than that, I think I may have gone a little overboard with the fruit; I probably should’ve substituted some of them for veggies. I wonder if it’s bad to have too many fruits in one day (ie too much sugar)? Either way, it’s definitely better than snacking on chips or cookies so I’m not upset about it. Hopefully the rest of the month goes this smoothly!
I watched this on the skinny. I never really thought about it that way. And what she was saying applied to me. I am always like: “If I lose this, then this”. I never realized i did that before I watched that video.
I’m now thinking that if you don’t love your self and are only healthy because you want to lose weight… you are going to get no where. It’s about a healthy life style. I still haven’t really grasped that but… I believe I am getting there.
Well, maybe not healthy…but pretty low in calorie, and many of these are low in fat, too! It’s so easy to get rid of that sweet tooth with all of these yummy recipes. When I looked them up, I was like…are you forreal? 150 calories!? Chocolate? Sweetness? HELLS YEAH

I volunteered this morning for the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure event in Downtown Raleigh today and it was absolutely amazing! I really felt like I was doing something so much bigger than myself, even though it was just passing out water every little bit helps!
This event was really important for me because I lost one of my cousins to it a few years ago. We didn’t have the greatest relationship but she was family and I really wish that our relationship would’ve been different but I guess it was her time. Regardless, I will celebrate her life and let her know that she is not forgotten.
I got really emotional while being there today because I’m battling cancer now. I have skin cancer, I was diagnosed in March of this year and it was a hard thing to come to terms with. I just started chemotherapy las month and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through. While it’s not fatal or life threatening it still takes a toll on my body. Cancer is Cancer and while I’m going through my fight I will do everything I can encourage others.
I’ll be participating in this race and many other’s from now on because I absolutely loved the way I felt today! Just being there with other people who have beaten cancer, friends and family who know people who have cancer, and just general supporters of a good cause! If there is a foundation in your area and they are doing anything in the community, please, Please, PLEASE get involved. You don’t have to personally know someone but just think….your supporting life, health, and strength…WHO WOULDN’T WANT THAT!

After starting my Marathon program this week, today was my first long run of the plan! 6 miles scheduled and 6 miles done!
Nice and comfortable tonight, but I left it late again!
Had a busy/Lazy day and then had to wait for dinner to go down! Several hours of procrastination later and I finally got out there and got it done. I do really enjoy running late at night, its so peaceful and quiet. Not to mention nice and cool making running nice and comfortable elements wise :)

I’m really looking forward to this workout. I’m really liking the quick pace of the videos. I’ve tried P90X and I really like those. But they always feel like they drag on too long. If it’s not an infection, then it’s just normal. Other people can’t smell it, you’re just getting paranoid. This is one of those things all girls get paranoid about. It’s in those body books your mom gives you when you’re a preteen, and it’s still in glamour nowadays. I was just reading a normal by the numbers thing about this and they all said the same thing, no one else can smell it, and guys aren’t turned off by it, it’s just natural. It’s not like guys taste awesome either, but it’s just natural, that’s just sex (though pineapples can apparently help for guys).
